IIT Guwahati has opened the GATE 2026 online registration from 28 August 2025. The last date without late fee is 28 September 2025 and with late fee is 09 October 2025. The exam is scheduled on 7, 8, 14, and 15 February 2026. A new subject XE-I (Energy Science) has been added and candidates can also opt for two-paper combinations. Eligibility Criteria

No age limit for appearing in GATE 2026.
Currently in 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate degree OR completed a govt-approved degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts/Humanities.
Certain medical/agriculture streams from 5th/6th/7th semester or higher are also eligible.
New: XE-I (Energy Science) paper introduced.
New: Two-paper combinations allowed.

Click on the GOAPS link and register using valid email and mobile number.
Fill personal, academic details and select paper(s)/exam cities.
Upload photograph, signature and required documents.
Pay the application fee (per paper) and submit the form.
